   T H E M A I N A T T R A C T I O N is a choreographed vocal ensemble consisting of 48 of the best singers and dancers from Chula Vista High’s School for the Creative and Performing Arts*

   This high energy variety show consisting of a wide array of musical numbers is guaranteed to liven up any occasion! Their songs come from today’s popular sounds, Broadway musicals, and the music of America’s finest youth!

   The Main Attraction has performed shows for conventions, community events, private parties, local elementary schools, church functions, television as well as international festival competitions. They were the GRAND CHAMPIONS at the 1997 Toronto, Canada , 1998 New York and 2002 Hawaii International Show-Choir Festival Competitions! At the Fullerton College Jazz Festival, they placed FIRST three times in the past 5 years of 200 show-choirs from all over California and Nevada! In 2002, they were ranked 5th in the nation at a national competition in New Yorkranked 1st in the state of California by taking home 4 FIRST PLACES in a row! In 2006, they again placed 5th in the nation at the New York national show choir competition.

   All the young men and women in The Main Attraction attend Chula Vista High School, and have auditioned to become part of this highly-select performing ensemble. Every year the group goes on a national or international tour representing Chula Vista High School and our community’s finest youth.

   Tours have included traveling to San Francisco, Hawaii, Toronto and Niagara Falls, Canada, New York, Orlando, Florida, the Bahamas, London, England, Paris, France and all over Southern California.

They have performed in 3 out of the 5 Disney properties in the world!

   Audiences everywhere have greeted our highly energetic shows with rave reviews and standing ovations. The Main Attraction was selected to perform at the 1994 “Insights” Convention which featured special speaking dignitaries: former US President George Bush, talk show host Larry King, The Reverend Jesse Jackson, comedian Dana Carvey, and Rock-n-Roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis, just to name a few. They performed at the “1995 Young People’s Concert” with the distinguished San Diego Symphony. In December of 1995 and 2005, they were the featured guests artists on KUSI’s “Songs for the Holidays” aired on channel 51, cable 9 on Christmas Eve! They also did some commercial work for XETV’s FOX channel 6 here in San Diego. They also were the guests performers at the San Diego Chargers Annual Blood Drive from 1999-2002. In 2002, They were an opening act for Dolly Parton as well as Peter Yarrow (Peter, Paul and Mary) at the San Diego Convention Center! They were the featured show choir on San Diego’s own “A Salute To Teachers” award show for 2005, 2006, AND 2007, which airs annually on cable channel 4!
